Change of Operations Manager at La Pura Vista per March 1st, 2011

After her 3,5 years of dedication to La Pura Vista, Raschka decided to look for other challenges outside La Pura Vista and have more time for her family. Of course we are sad to see her leave, as she took care of La Pura Vista and our guests the past years as it was her own home and family, since the start in 2007.
At the same time we are very pleased to announce a new Operations Manager who can take over from Raschka:
Carla van Ballegooijen. We want to thank Raschka for her dedication and good work and wish her all the best for the future together with Genaro, Syphard, Ranoelle and Chabely! And for Carla; welcome to the team of La Pura Vista!

Renewal of the vows Brigitte & Marco Cammel

To celebrate their 20 years of marriage and to renew the wedding vows, Marco, as a surprise for Brigitte, took her on a 2 days trip to Bonaire.

After arrival at La Pura Vista, they first enjoyed a relaxed and lazy afternoon by the pool. That evening, Brigitte thought, Marco would take her out for a fancy dinner. And indeed, a beautifully decorated table was waiting for them on the beach of Harbour Village.

But..., unexpected for Brigitte, behind that table, "registar" Ansela was there as well to do a  "renewal of the marriage vows" ceremony.

It was a nice party: first the "ceremony" with lots of laughter and then the wedding cake and champagne! There after a wonderful photo shoot, taken at sunset by Hendrik Wuyts, the photographer.
And as a perfect end to this day, an exquisite romantic 3 course dinner on the beach....

The comments of the couple on this day:"It was great, we will never forget this."

La Pura Vista flies around the world! In 2011 La Pura Vista is mentioned with an attractive ad in the glossy magazine J&T (related to a 3- Michelin stars restaurant in the Netherlands). KLM offers this magazine to all KLM World Business Class clients in 2011 (all over the world)!

Besides that La Pura Vista is mentioned in the Februar edition of the 'American Way' magazine of American Airlines. We are very proud of this beautiful promotion of our luxury guesthouse!

The island of Bonaire has swept top honors receiving four #1 Ratings, which is more than any other destination in the Caribbean/Atlantic category, while continuing its reign as one of the world's top dive destinations. Surprise Party 50th Birthday

On January 8 Rene turned 50 years old and his wife Claudia thought that La Pura Vista was the perfect place to organize a well deserved surprise party for him with all his friends and family. Rene was brought to La Pura Vista blindfolded by Claudia and their daughter. A loud SURPRISE from all the invited guest put him back on his feet again. In front of the door a nice 'Abraham-doll'. The night was filled with good food, snacks, drinks and good live music by the Latin Trio; they danced and party the night away!

At La Pura Vista we started the new year with a party. After a nice evening with food and drinks, we opened the Champagne bottles in the viewing tower. Of course served with the typical dutch 'Oliebollen'! At the same time we all enjoyed the fireworks from the whole Island. Fireworkmen Tim Edelman and our own Marco gave us a great firework show after that at La Pura Vista.

There are only two restaurants in the Netherlands with 3 Michelin stars. One of them is Restaurant the Librije in Zwolle. Owners Jonnie and Thérèse Boer are frequent visitors of our beautiful island and La Pura Vista! They started a glossy magazine, named JenT. La Pura Vista, JenT and the two most famous restaurants of Bonaire (Capriccio and It Rains Fishes) created a very attractive culinary Wine and Dine package (click here) for the real gourmand!

Furthermore we congratulate Jonnie and Thérèse Boer with the agreement they have with the KLM company to offer their glossy magazine to all KLM World Business Class clients in 2011 (all over the world)! And off course, we are very proud to be (mentioned) in their magazine too.

OCTOBER 2010

The first couple that got married in the new community of the Netherlands were Paulien and Jeremy. They have chosen Debby as master of ceremonies. Together with Raschka and Asinta they planned the day with great punctuality. With their closest family and their amazing kids they stayed at La Pura Vista and drove to Eden Beach for the ceremony. At the magical moment of 10 minutes past 10, the registrar Irma Cicilia asked Paulien and Jeremy the special question. After a convincing yes the couple enjoyed a delicious high tea and left for a sailing trip with the Aquaspace, a catamaran with spectacular underwater observation deck.

Afterwards the private chef Lucille cooked an exquisite dinner at the gorgeous location of La Pura Vista with the ' one million dollar'  view. October 10, 2010: Bonaire special community of the Netherlands

The Dutch Antilles have stopped existing on 10-10-'10. The Netherlands and the Dutch Antilles worked together since 2005 on this new political change. Curacao and St. Martin became a country within the Dutch Kingdom while Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba (BES-islands) became part of the Netherlands as a special community. The BES-islands will be mentioned as "Regional Caribic Netherlands" (RCN). On October 10^th there were lots of festivities celebrating the new community of the Netherlands

It's already been three years ago that La Pura Vista opened its door on September 14^th and welcomed their first guests. We made a special celebration package which included 15% discount, a fresh bottle of Prosecco in the room and a free shirt from La Pura Vista!

JUNE 2010

Bonaire Ambassadors Thomas & Cheryl Schaffeld are visiting Bonaire for 14 years already. The last four visits they stayed at La Pura Vista. They were officially recognized by the Tourism Corporation Bonaire as Bonaire Ambassadors. Right after breakfast, they were surprised with this recognition and received a certificate and a bronze medal from Tourism Corporation Bonaire. We congratulate Thomas and Cheryl with their recognition. Their enthusiastic response: "Thank you very very much, we are very honored in receiving this wonderful surprise and will definetely go for the silver and the gold medals"

Weddings in Bonaire at La Pura Vista!
The team of La Pura Vista was very pleased with the happy faces of two brides and grooms in the month of May! Two couples got married in Bonaire and relied completely on the organizational capacities of La Pura Vista. We wish Marlies and Niek Helmink and Karla and Remco Boeijen all the best for their married future and hope that they will hold on to the sunny start they've made in Bonaire!

Marriage at May 16th 2010
The guests of this couple all stayed at La Pura Vista. 35 Years ago the parents of the bride choose this date to get married and now their daughter got married at the same date. To celebrate the parents' anniversary they all started the day with a Champagne brunch. In the afternoon they all went to Eden Beach for the wedding ceremony with Mrs. Irma Cicilia, wedding cake and more bubbles! After a beautiful sunset the brand-new bride and groom and their guests drove back to La Pura Vista. Raschka awaited them with (more!) champagne and strawberries and Lucille Martijn prepared a very delicious Caribbean dinner for them. Moogie took care of very cheerful Caribbean music and studied their favorite song. They partied and danced until very late into the night…. Photographer Hendrik Wuyts took great pictures! Marriage at May 5th  2010
On Wednesday May 5th Marlies and Niek Helmink got married! With their closest family and friends they stayed at La Pura Vista. The other 27 guests stayed at different places on the island. Mrs. Irma Cicilia was the registrar and she asked the most important question of the day… of course they both said YES! After this sunny ceremony they drove with the 'Paranda (party)-bus' to La Pura Vista where the drinks were cool and the barbecue delicious! A DJ took care of very energetic and lively music and besides that the guests got treated with a surprise act of the famous local band 'Crème de la Crème'! July 2009 La Pura Vista is co-sponsor at the IV Bonaire Tennis Cup in Caracas, Venezuela. A sport event that takes place at the prestigious Izcaragua Country Club on June 27 and 28 and July 4 and 5, 2009. Two consecutive weekends, where players from 8 exclusive Tennis Clubs, will meet competing in the tennis courts. A total of 120 players will play in five different categories. One of the prizes in the tournement will be a trip to Bonaire.

January 2009: 12 Annual BONHATA Awards Event: "and the winner is........La Pura Vista!"

BONHATA (the hotel and tourism association at Bonaire) celebrated its 12th Annual Awards Event at the Calabas Restaurant, located in the Divi Flamingo Beach Resort & Casino. The theme of the evening was "Black & White" with this being the dress code and also the basis of the Interactive Photo Collage that was created throughout the evening. The Guest Speaker was the Lt. Governor, Mr. Glenn Thode, who gave a stirring address on how the people of Bonaire make the genuine experiences our guests have whilst visiting our island. It is how they are treated that lets them leave feeling richer than when they arrived.

To select who is to receive an award, the members of BONHATA are asked to nominate a company or an individual who they believe deserves recognition for the contribution they have made to the Tourism Industry of Bonaire. And one of them is our La Pura Vista. That means a lot of recognition for Raschka and Asinta. They treat our guests like kings and queens (see the guestbook!).

Together with all our guests and family we spent a beautiful New Years Eve at La Pura Vista. We started the night with a deluxe barbeque and besides that Raschka made some typical Caribbean dishes.

At midnight we all enjoyed the fireworks on the raised terrace. It was so clear that night that we could even see the colours of the fireworks of Curacao! Of course, as a Dutch tradition, we served Champagne and 'oliebollen'!

50st Wedding-anniversary party for family Siers!
Being married for 50 years is not something you hear very often nowadays. It makes it extra special if you decide to bring the whole family over from Holland to celebrate this together in Bonaire! With 23 children and grandchildren Mr. and Mrs. Siers choose La Pura Vista for their anniversary party, while staying at Harbour Village. With good food and music with Julius Andrew and his Mariachi band the party was more then complete. They
even invited all our guests to join them for the party and the barbecue. We congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Siers again with their Golden Anniversary and we thank them for choosing La Pura Vista to celebrate this special event.

Private Dive-lockers for our guests, 20 april 2008
It seemed it would take a lifetime to finish them, but they are finally ready to use! Spacious dive-lockers for our guests. From now on every guest with a divepackage will receive the key for a private and free divelocker to store all of his divegear. The divelockers are located in the garage, so you can easily unload it from the truck into the locker. Next to the divelockers we put two rinse tanks with fresh water.

Tonight our guests Jaimy van Ommen and Ferry Liem officialy got married on the beach in Bonaire. 'It was the most wonderful and romantic day of my life' said Jaimy. The day was organized by La Pura Vista and we wish them all the luck they deserve in their marriage.

A quick update from us! April 16, 2008
We are very proud that we will shortly present our new La Pura Vista promotion film on our website. At the end of this month we will also launch our new deals and packages for our guests.

It is already December 31, 2007!

La Pura Vista opened doors for her first guests on Saturday September 15, 2007 ! On Saturday and Sunday our first guests arrived and are now enjoying the relaxed and intimate atmosphere from La Pura Vista. On Monday September 17, our first tasty barbecue was a fact and to celebrate this special first occasion with our first guests we opened a fine bottle of Champagne; a toast on La Pura Vista!
